Using the latest WebAudio player by Juergen Wothke, which this time plays music files from the Nintendo DS - I have made the obligatory CODEF version!
Plenty of great tunes available at FTP/Modland for you to enjoy! Have fun!

Oracle Ball Scroller
Hey! I thought it was time for a new remake, and saw a cool post on one of the Cracktro pages showing a cool screen by Oracle, called Ball Scroller..... so here it is, is CODEF form! Right-click to change songs (as per the original), and lots of cool bubble-type graphics! Enjoy!

Atari ST Quartet music webaudio playback with CODEF
Does anyone reading this remember the Atari ST four channel digi-sample playback software QUARTET?
It was marketed by Microdeal, and was "kind of" the first ST version of the four channel digi sounds as used on the Amiga with Soundtracker (although the actual Soundtracker software came to the ST a short while later). In the meantime, Quartet was used for games and demos, and unusually was based on the traditional music stave system unlike the sequencer style of the various Sound Trackers.
Anyway, enough history - thanks once again to Juergen Wothke, and his amazing UADE players, a recent update means now Quartet tunes are now supported. As demonstrated in my CODEF example here...

Enjoy the retro goodness! :-)

TCB Tracker webaudio playback with CODEF
Using the latest version of the UADE player by Juergen Wothke (as used in his PlayMOD project), I was able to add-in the TCB Tracker support into the webAudio UADE - so now Atari ST fans can playback their favourite 4 channel digi tunes, made with the TCB Tracker! Yay!
Head over to my website to see a working demo... http://codef.namwollem.co.uk/TEST/TCB/webTCB.html

globalCompositeOperation
On many of the demoscreens I have written, in order to achieve the various effects, I use a command called globalCompositeOperation.
We can not only draw new shapes behind existing shapes but we can also use it to mask off certain areas, clear sections from the canvas (not limited to rectangles or simple shapes) and more.

globalCompositeOperation = type
This sets the type of compositing operation to apply when drawing new shapes, where type is a string identifying which of the twelve compositing operations to use.
If you goto the link below, the various types of operation can be tested and seen in use.

Alpha Flight Jungle Dreams 3 Intro from the Amiga
Today's remake is another one from the Commodore Amiga, this time it's Alpha Flight, and their "Jungle Dreams #3" Pack Disk Intro which has it's day in CODEF!
Nice little tune, and a nice look - also a quick 90 minute remake! :-) Enjoy!

Paragon 28 Amiga Intro
I recently saw a cool BBS Packdisk Intro from the Amiga, Paragon 28 - just loved the ideas in it - a great tune, nice font, and some really cool EQ bars! So I thought I just HAD to do a quick remake!
I hope you enjoy it...

eSWAT cracktro by Paradox from the Commodore Amiga
I saw a cool cracktro today, by Paradox - for the game eSWAT from the Amiga, so I thought I'd have a go at a quick remake - and two hours later it was done!
I had to rewrite the CODEF scrolltext .js library in order to achieve the scroller effect, but only took about 10 minutes, so you'll find in the code of this one a link to a new "codef_cos_scrolltext.js" which allows for a "bounce effect" on the scrolline (horizontal only)!
I hope you enjoy this latest remake!

EDIT: Added touch events for iOS devices, as well as soft buttons to simulate mouse left and mouse right clicks (also for iOS users), and a variable opening text - device dependant.

UP ROUGH AMP
Just thought I'd post something I was working on with Spot on recently.... the UP ROUGH AMP!

Our homage to WINAMP I guess, written in CODEF, and using the UADE webplayer by Jürgen Wothke!
Starts with a sample playlist, drag and drop your own tunes if you wish! If they contain multiple tracks, you can skip thru the tracks - choose from several different EQs, and some mini scrollers etc..
Take a look, have a play and see what you think!
