Smartphone Touchscreen Testing...

Using the HAMMER.JS libs from Eight Media in Holland, and integrating it into CODEF, I have managed to get simplistic touch controls to work!

Nothing too stunning, but you can move a white box around in this example with touch gestures, and a tap on the screen will return the box to it's starting position.

Take a look!

SID doing PAULA

I saw this awesome looking SID music demo on the CSDB (http://csdb.dk/release/?id=135962) and thought the Amiga music remakes on SID were so good, they deserved a viewing in "browser land", so I made the obligatory CODEF remake! :-)

Say thanks to the original authors, Arkanix Labs, and to TinyRSID for making it possible on a browser!

Hope you like it!

P.S. Thanks to some kind words from one of the original authors, and a hint, the (ahem!) hidden tune is now added! :-)

SpectreZX port to CODEF!

SpectreZX (Preview): is an experimental JavaScript/HTML5 version of ZXTune. ZXTune plays a variety of ZX Spectrum tracker formats. This Web version by Juergen Wothke only uses the built-in ZXTune core emulation but not the add-on players: XMP, SID, etc.. since they already have dedicated players - Especially since the player is not exactly slim as it is... :-)

This is still an early alpha version, and due to some unresolved Emscripten bugs (with regard to the handling of unaligned packed structures) some of the players still crash.

Even so, it's such a great thing to have another player available in .JS, I couldn't wait to port it to CODEF, so here it is! Thanks to Juergen Wothke, and I will obviously update this as he updates the main player!

Backlash Cracktro by TEX for the ST

I remember one of the earliest TEX (The Exceptions) screens I ever saw was the "cracktro" for Backlash! Whilst I thought it was awesome at the time, the simple non-moving colour screen soon looked dated once the demo crew competitiveness kicked in!

I was going to remake it, but a simple static screen shot with music, isn't that interesting.... so I "remixed" it! :-)

Hope you like it, and aren't too offended by my deviation from the original!
